Defiance
Defiance is a science-fiction television show that ran from 2013 to 2015 on Syfy. The concept is based on a video game by Trion Worlds that debuted at the same time as the show, with the original idea being some story would be in the game, and some would be in the show. The basic plot: Aliens come to Earth as refugees, but an accident aboard a spaceship triggers a 40 year interspecies war that decimates the planet. Defiance takes place after the war has ended, and humans and aliens have decided to live together in peace. The show features four full alien conlangs and one language sketch created by David J. Peterson. The full languages that were created for the show are as follows:
The language sketch is called Yanga Kayang. David developed some vocabulary for it, but never got the opportunity to flesh it out.
