Bodzvokhan is a language created by David Peterson for the orcs from the Netflix film Bright. The language is a priori, though with heavy borrowings from Russian. This is on account of the fact that orcs in the universe of Bright are supposed to have come into being near the Pripet Marshes. I reasoned their first most likely second language would have been Russian, and would have been the source of a lot of vocabulary before their emigration. I decided to go over the top for the sound of it, resulting in a lot of difficult consonant clusters and velar releases. It also has a high-low vowel harmony system I took directly from Moro (also known as Thetogovela), a language of Sudan we worked on when I was a graduate student at UC San Diego.
