Veda

Etymology

From qan ("chase") +‎ kho ("grab").

Pronunciation

IPA(key): /ˈqaŋxo/

Rhymes: -aŋxo

Orthographic Form

qangkhu

Verb

qankho (perfective qankho nǝkh, progressive gǝn qankho, inceptive/passive yu qankho)

  1. to hunt

Creation and Usage Notes

I previously spelled this qangkho in the romanization, but now I can't figure out why... Doesn't seem to be how I was doing the velar nasal throughout the language (i.e. I just allowed the assimilation to take place naturally). Anyway, I thought this was a fun etymology.
