The Andal language was the language spoken by the Andals, the second major group of people to come to Westeros from Essos after the First Men. The Andals originated in Andalos, a hilly region north of where the city of Pentos is located during the events of Game of Thrones. The Andal language largely displaced the former dominant language on the continent, the Old Tongue of the First Men. Its descendant, the Common Tongue, remains the most widely spoken in Westeros.
