High Valyrian

Pronunciation

(Classical) IPA(key): /kiːˈvyːso/

Noun

kīvȳso

  1. instrumental/comitative singular of kīvio
Kīvȳso[1] valar Dārio laehot gīda kesosy[2].
You swore that all men would be equal in the Queen's eyes.
-Hizdahr (Game of Thrones, Episode 504)

Notes

  1. Here translated as "you swore that..." but literally meaning "by (your) promise", the agent of the promise being implied from context.
  2. The use of kesosy instead of the expected kesos here is an unintentional error by Peterson, however it apparently fits the speaker, Hizdahr zo Loraq, a Meereenese noble.
