Creation and Usage Notes

Using a verb like this is a common and simple way to get a perfective and/or past tense, but the form was chosen specifically. I was listening to Finnish power metal a lot at the time, and there was a song by Nightwish called "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" sung all in Finnish that has this amazing lyrical sequence:
Luojani, luoksesi anna minun tulla siksi miksi lapseni minua luulee...

I never looked up what it meant, but it was these successive [ks] and [ps] sounds that I desperately wanted to hear in Castithan. I created sound changes so that [ks], [ps], and [ts] would occur frequently, and to make sure that it showed up a lot, I did two things. First, I gave Castithan a topic marker (used in almost ever sentence) that would surface as ksa, and then I gave it a suffix that would ultimately show up as a past tense marker that would surface as either -psa, -pshe, or -pso. This is why I made the root for "finish" *pas.
