Etymology

From Proto-Castithan *-i + epenthetic [l].

Suffix

-li (indirect form)

  1. occurs with both nominal and verbal stems (used to signify indirect action or with an argument that was indirectly affected or indefinite; used only with stems that end in long vowels, or in diphthongs that end in [i])
