Usage

This is used to attempt to ease finding citations and references for definitions copied from Webster 1913. That dictionary often supported their sense with references to authors or works, rather than full quotations. The references were greatly abbreviated, but the dictionary contained a large appendix, with a fuller bibliographic reference. A copy can be found at Project:Abbreviated Authorities in Webster.

Parameters

|1=

The language code of the term needing a quotation. See Project:List of languages.

|2=

The name of the author or work or both.

|sort=

The sort key for the page; rarely needs to be specified.

|nocat=1

Disable categorization of this page.

This template adds the page to the following categories (where LANG is the language whose code is specified using |1=):

• Category:Requests for quotations in LANG
• Category:Requests for quotations/AUTHOR (where AUTHOR is the value passed in as |2=)
