This template is used in etymology sections when a word is formed by adding an infix to another word. An infix is an affix that is stuck inside of another word.

Basic code: {{infix|language code|base|infix}}

For example, in hizouse:

{{infix|en|house|iz}}
house +‎ -iz-

Parameters

|1=
Language code.
|2=
Word to which the infix is added.
|3=
The infix. Remove the hyphens from the beginning and end.

Sequential parameters:

|alt1=, |alt2=
Display text for the base word and the infix.
|t1=, |t2=
Translations of the base word and the infix.
|pos1=, |pos2=
Part-of-speech (or non-gloss description) of the base word and the infix.
|tr1=, |tr2=
Transliteration of the base word and the infix.
|lit1=, |lit2=
Literal translation of the base word and the infix.
|id1=, |id2=
Sense id (see {{senseid}}) for the links of the base word and the infix.

Deprecated parameter:

|lang=
Use |1= instead.
