prefix- +‎ base +‎ -suffix

This template is used in the etymology section. Use

{{circumfix|language code|prefix|root|suffix}}

where prefix is the prefix, excluding hyphen, root is the root, and suffix is the suffix of the term. For instance, a simple etymology of the Dutch word vergiftigen could be created with:

{{circumfix|nl|ver|giftig|en}}

which evaluates to:

ver- +‎ giftig +‎ -en

Other arguments

|sc=
Script code. See Project:Scripts
|t1=, |t2=
Glosses
|tr1=, |tr2=
Transliteration of word 1 and word 2 respectively (for non-Latin scripts)
|alt1=, |alt2=
Alternate text to display instead of the links.
|pos1=, |pos2=
Part-of-speech information. Additional unquoted explanatory text, coming after the transliteration and gloss.
|nocat=1
Suppresses categorization

Examples

{{circumfix|ms|per|empu|an}}

gives the ouput:

per- +‎ empu +‎ -an

If circumfixes or words are written in non-Latin scripts, transliteration or gloss parameters may need to be added. Some transliterations can be autogenerated.

{{circumfix|ka|სა|ქართველი|ო|t2 = Georgian (ethnic group)}}

gives the output

Lua error in Module:Languages/doSubstitutions at line 75: Substitution data 'Geor-translit' does not match an existing module..
