Creation and Usage Notes

The word chiori replaced the older Proto-Plains word for "woman", which became modern yesi. This is an example of feminine pejoration (present in every human language that we know of), whereby ordinary words for women acquire negative connotations (in this case, the old word simply meaning "woman" coming to mean "old woman" or "crone").
