Dothraki
Etymology
From Proto-Plains mǝra (“inside”).
Source
Coined by George R. R. Martin in the book A Game of Thrones.
Pronunciation
Preposition
mra (contracts to mr' before a word beginning with a vowel)
- in, inside of (with the nominative)
- Khalakka dothrae mr'anha.
- A prince is riding inside me.
- -Daenerys (A Game of Thrones)
- A prince is riding inside me.
- Khalakka dothrae mr'anha.
- into (with the allative)
- out of, out from (with the ablative)
Creation and Usage Notes
I'm not happy with how this turned out. I misremembered what I planned at an early stage and ended up getting stuck with a wonky prepositional system in Dothraki where major prepositions are assigning the nominative case. See anha for more info on that. |
