Template:X2i

This template, which should be substituted when used, allows users to type in XSAMPA characters and have them automatically converted to IPA. It should generally be used inside {{IPA}}, {{IPAchar}}, or {{IPAfont}}, but can also be used simply to generate any characters that happen to be present in the IPA, such the letters æ and ð for Icelandic, which can be generated by typing {{subst:x2i|{}} and {{subst:x2i|D}}. For example, the typed string

/{{subst:x2i|"dIkS@nEr\i}}/

automatically converts to

/ˈdɪkʃənɛɹi/

when the “Save page” button is clicked.
