Spanish is a language spoken all over the world, and one of David's first languages. David used Spanish as the proto-language for the a posteriori Azrán language used in the AMC series Into the Badlands. He'd long felt that Spanish could easily become a tonal language, and the setting of Into the Badlands provided the perfect excuse to test the theory out.
