• Astapori Valyrian definite articles are used in some contexts where English uses none.

  Pindas lu me qrinunty iruhilas va ji Dovoghedhi ji derve...? ― She asks if an enemy offers the Unsullied freedom...?

• Before vowels, the form of the definite article reduces to j'.

  J'abra Vesterozia las kreni, y ivetras dori rije vaghoma gidhmilas qova j'odre. ― The Westerosi woman is pleased but speaks no praise to keep the price down.
