I may have intentionally made the third person pronoun me so that that particular form wouldn't be associated with the first person. I also definitely intentionally made it non-gender specific. First, it's more common, and second, it would have been far, far too easy to fall into the cartoonish "Dothraki he man patriarchy" stereotype. Any human society is going to be far more nuanced than that.
